DTN COMMENTS:
No cash cattle trade has developed yet; both bids and asking prices remain
elusive at this point. News broke late Monday afternoon that Cargill is going
to begin production at their Fort Morgan plant in Colorado which has been idle
since May. This is having a positive effect on the cattle contracts. The plant
intends to begin production the week of Sept. 7.
NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to email DTN with any cattle sales at
ShayLe.Stewart@dtn.com. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized by
state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly summary
from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported to DTN page
and will be left up for the entire week for reference purposes.
